蒙脫石對人和植物無腐蝕、無毒、無刺激，在飼料工業(yè)中可直接作為原料添加劑成分。
（1）預(yù)混料載體
蒙脫石是預(yù)混料載體的首選。由于蒙脫石粉劑吸附力強(qiáng)、致密細(xì)膩、流動性好，而作為預(yù)混料的載體較磷酸氫鈣、重鈣要優(yōu)良得多。 實(shí)驗(yàn)表明：加工過程中不會產(chǎn)生分層現(xiàn)象，均勻混合性能好，對各種維生素、微量元素分散吸附力強(qiáng)，均勻牢固，可以防潮、防霉、防蟲蛀、防變質(zhì)，增加微量元素 的含量。
（2）膠粘劑
蒙脫石目前已經(jīng)廣泛作為顆粒飼料和水產(chǎn)餌料的膠粘劑。蒙脫石具有較強(qiáng)的粘結(jié)性，完全可以代替常用的羧基纖維素、次粉等，不僅膠粘效果好，而且可塑性強(qiáng)，成型的粒子型整齊、表面光滑，成本大大低于傳統(tǒng)粘結(jié)劑。
（3）脫霉劑
蒙脫石具有對霉菌毒素脫毒功效，在配制畜禽日糧中添加將有利于抑制和消除霉菌毒素的毒害作用。飼料及飼料原料普遍存在霉變現(xiàn)象，飼料原料中57％ 以上都會受到霉菌毒素的污染，尤其是在我國南方的梅雨潮濕季節(jié)。黃曲霉毒素、T-2毒素、嘔吐毒素、玉米赤霉烯酮、赭曲霉毒素及煙曲霉毒素是最常見的霉菌 毒素。這些毒素肉眼看不見，但會長期存于飼料原料中，畜禽入食后會削弱免疫系統(tǒng)，干擾代謝過程、抑制蛋白質(zhì)合成和碳水化合物與脂肪代謝中的酶活性。
（4）稀釋劑
蒙脫石作為稀釋劑用于干燥發(fā)酵全液制成的產(chǎn)品中。采用PRT作為發(fā)酵飼料的稀釋劑，蒙脫石能將活性成分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化，發(fā)酵干燥物的比例可占75%～95%，其余部分由稀釋劑―蒙脫石來補(bǔ)充。
3.蒙脫石的喂養(yǎng)效果
（1）喂豬
在基礎(chǔ)日糧中添加2%蒙脫石，可使豬的平均日增重提高40g，飼料轉(zhuǎn)化率提高3.25%。
（2）喂蛋雞
在蛋雞日糧中添加1.3%～2.6%蒙脫石，連用一個產(chǎn)蛋年，可使產(chǎn)蛋率提高8.74%～15.6%，蛋重提高2.4%，飼料消耗減少12.15%
（3）喂肉雞
在肉雞飼料中添加1.5%蒙脫石，60天飼養(yǎng)后可使肉雞全期增重11.52%～11.58%，飼料消耗降低9.71%～14.7%。
（4）喂牛
在育肥黃牛日糧中添加蒙脫石，每頭每日喂飼50～100g，可使黃牛平均增重提高23.49～65.73%，每增重1kg減少消耗精料1.88～3.92kg
（5）喂羊
在青草放牧期，每只每日給內(nèi)蒙古細(xì)毛羊灌服30g蒙脫石加100g水，羊毛長度增加0.48cm每平方厘米剪毛量增加0.0398g。
（6）水產(chǎn)養(yǎng)殖
在對蝦養(yǎng)殖中，使用蒙脫石再添加化學(xué)增氧劑及其它助劑可制成水產(chǎn)養(yǎng)殖增氧消毒劑，顯著提高體系中的溶解氧，吸附水體中的硫、銨、重金屬等離子，阻止池底有機(jī)物的腐敗，改善水色，防止對蝦浮頭，提高對蝦的產(chǎn)量
